Thank you for your interest in participating as a presenter at the 2008 conference!
The following is information you will need to consider in planning your presentation.
General:
Extended abstracts for this conference will be made available to conference participants and
others via electronic posting on the website. They will be reproduced as submitted with little-to-no
editorial or peer review.
Please format them for a single 8.5 x 11 (standard letter) page setup,
portrait (vertical) orientation, with 1-inch margins all around. Use 11-point Tahoma font for all
text unless otherwise noted below.
Title: Positioned
at the top, centered, with a 12-point bold font (Tahoma).
Bylines: List the name; affiliation; city;
state; and e-mail address for the main author and affiliation for any co-authors.
Acknowledgements:If applicable, provide acknowledgements
after the author bylines.
Abstract: An
abstract of 300 words or less should clearly summarize
the main points of the paper. Please limit introductory
and/or background text in
order to focus on study results, discussion and/or implications
for educators. Present lengthy methodology only if it
is novel and/or crucial to the discussion.
Literature Cited: Follow
The Chicago Manual of Style in 11-font. Citations should appear in the text as Burr(1967) or (Burr 1967).
Under "Literature Cited," arrange references alphabetically
by author and spell out journal titles. Examples:
CORTNER, H.J., and M.A. SHANNON. 1993. Embedding public participation in
its political context. Journal of Forestry 91(7):14-16.
ENDICOTT, E. 1993. Land conservation
through public/private partnerships. Washington, DC:
Island Press.
Keywords: Please include two to five keywords
that are not included in the title.
Illustrations: A single table, figure, or photograph
may be included at the bottom of the page and should fit on the page within the same margins as the text.
Maintain portrait orientation and avoid using type fonts smaller than 8 point in the illustration. Color
is permissible, but make sure it will still be meaningful if printed in black and white.
